The concept of landscape is approached through the interaction of the concepts of people and place. Place marketing aims at supporting place image through the promotion of its distinctive characteristics. The perception of landscape and place marketing occurs through the atmospheric sense of place. In order to examine the impacts of place marketing strategies to landscape and the possibility of change in the atmosphere of the place there is an analysis of the case of the archaeological landscape of Epidaurus, its restorations and its intensive replanting in order to turn it into an international tourist destination.
