Thresholds are a challenge for urban and architectural thinking and for uses of tomorrow. We explore ambient thresholds in terms of sensitive changing and detachment allowing uncertain perception and action shifting, taking an approach to details. The experimentation and creation of thresholds are discussed regarding the ‘ambience of domination’ that seems to characterise some contemporary architectures.
