Shanghai streetscape is an installation project whose topic is the atmosphere of a street in Shanghai. Jiashan Lu is a street located in the Xuhui district which is under transformation. Along this street, we observe a singular atmosphere which comes with a series of small shops and workshops; the inhabitant and the passerby appropriate the pavement and the road. Through this article, we seek to report our experience of this condition within a Chinese city, the questions we faced, and the steps which lead us to the realisation of this project.
