This study investigates and examines the mobility strategies that visually impaired people employ in large and complicated urban configurations in nowadays cities. The main objective is to determine the relations between the environment and space understanding of people with visual impairments and environmental special relationships and data. After a measuring of luminous, tactile, kinaesthetic, acoustic, olfactory environment and evaluation of environmental stimulating factors, an experimental protocol has been set in an urban course. According to the results urban configurations, subsequent urban ambiances have a large impact on the visually impaired sense of space recognition and exploration and their daily displacements.
